Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to be Catholic to attend?
No. We are predominately Catholic, but children of all faiths are welcome. Mass is celebrated as a school community on a weekly basis. Families of our students are always invited to join us.
What is the uniform policy?
Each child from kindergarten through eighth grade is required to wear a uniform in accordance with the dress code. Uniforms can be purchased through Educational Outfitters or through the used uniform exchange. Our code for Educational Outfitters is SC061.
What other courses besides the basic academic core are offered?
Library skills, computer instruction, music, art, and physical education are part of our curriculum. Spanish will be taught in K5-8th.
What does St. Joseph Catholic School have to offer that is not available in the Public School System?
Your child will receive excellence in education and spiritual development within the framework of the tradition of the Catholic Church. Unlike public education, St. Joseph Catholic School offers a moral code, a value system, and faith formation as an integral part of each child's education, thus addressing the whole child.
Are all of your class room teachers Certified?
Yes, all our teachers are certified in either South Carolina or in another state that the Diocese recognizes as requiring comparable standards. The PreK program is certified through DSS.
What is St. Joseph Catholic Schools' lunch program?
Lunch is served every day.
Lunch tickets are $3.00/ticket and are sold in packs of 10.
The lunch program is sponsored by the PTO and relies on volunteer assistance. If you would like to help out, please contact a PTO volunteer coordinator.
