Administrative Bio: My Elementary Education degree is from Trinity Christian College near Chicago, Illinois. Before I went off to the big city of Chicago, I lived and grew up in Holland, MI.
Before joining the wonderful staff here at SJCCS I worked the past two school years as a teacher’s assistant at Spears Creek Road Child Development Center in Columbia, SC.
Previous to working in Columbia, I interned at Michael Byrne Elementary School in the Chicago Public Schools. I taught a Kindergarten class for 17 weeks of 24 students in the morning and 26 in the afternoon.
I have a strong passion for mission work and have spent a considerable time volunteering overseas in Brasov, Romania during my summer breaks. While I am there I enjoy working in orphanages and schools, and also direct a Vacation Bible School for the children in the villages.
These experiences have solidified in me a belief that a strong education – both deep and wide – is the greatest gift we as educators can give to a child. It's not only my dream but my daily mission to provide the most complete, the most well-rounded, and the most tailored education I can to each and every student in my classroom. I'm honored to be a part of this important career.
